This encyclopedia isn't so all-around review but it's really interesting.There are little pieces of info about history of lighthouses but it's not so amazing because all the schoolchildren know it from History lessons (at least in Eastern Europe or Russia). The book focused on American, Australian, British and French lighthouses. Cool, it's more then nothing, but for real polymathy there are not enough info about lighthouses of Northern and Eastern Europe (just two or three lighthouses of Scandinavia, nary lighthouses of Polish pr Russian Baltic Sea, nary lighthouses of the Arctic Ocean), lighthouses of Middle East and North Africa (from Turkey - Strait of Istanbul for sample) and Far East (from Russian Far East till Japan, China and all other eastern countries).SO!
